Germans and Americans have a long history of celebrating together. That was certainly the case at Wiesbaden Army Airfield as the entire community came together to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift.

This year marks the 60th aniversary of the Berlin Airlift. Wiesbaden Army Airfield held multiple events to celebrate the humanitarian operation that saved countless lives and in the process changed post war German American relations. Veterns of the Berlin Airlift, members of the community and VIPs gathered to commemorate the first flight of the airlift that left from Wiesbaden to Berlin.

Soldiers of First Armored Division put together a town hall meeting for the families of deployed soldiers. During the meeting families had the chance to findout information about their loved ones down range as well as ask questions to Major General Mark Hertling the Commanding General of the First Armored Division.
